Rice renames football venue First Community Stadium in 20-year naming deal

Rice University and Houston-based First Community Credit Union announced a 20-year football stadium naming-rights and campus collaboration agreement, with Rice Stadium becoming First Community Stadium beginning with the Oct. 3 home game against UTSA. Interim AD Eric George said the partnership supports athletics competitiveness and student career development alongside the Gateway Project stadium renovation; First Community becomes the official financial institution of Rice Football, Rice Athletics, and the Association of Rice Alumni and will add financial literacy, internships, and campus banking programs.
