The Southern Conference and its Council of Presidents announced Monday a formal search for the league’s 11th commissioner. Samford University president Dr. Beck A. Taylor will chair a search committee drawn from presidents/chancellors, athletics directors, senior woman administrators, and faculty athletics representatives. Atlanta-based Parker Executive Search is partnering on the recruitment. The search follows Michael Cross’s August departure; Geoff Cabe is serving as interim commissioner.
